    • 1. General troubleshooting

  • Have a domain or network administrator help you with firewalls and/or server settings.
  • Check your Wi-Fi connection and make sure it’s up and running.
  • Try using Ethernet connection if possible.
  • If possible, try replicating the issue on another device to see if it’s the computer hardware having issues.

    • In case the problem is still there, you might want to try using a different browser, such as Opera for example. It’s quite similar to Chrome, and it works great with all Google’s services.

    2. Use the Incognito mode

  • Open Chrome. Now click the menu button in the top right corner. Select New Incognito window.
  • New window will now appear.
  • Visit Google Docs and sign in with your account and check if the problem is still there.

    • If the problem doesn’t appear in Incognito mode, it means that your cache or extensions are causing the issue, so you’ll have to check them.

    3. Disable extensions

  • Open Chrome (non-incognito).
  • In the address bar, type: chrome://extensions
  • Disable all extensions by clicking the switch icon next to them.
  • Now try to open Docs again and check if the problem is still there.

    4. Clear browser cache

  • Click the menu icon and select More tools. Now choose Clear browsing data.
  • Make sure that the Time range is set to All time and then click on Clear data.
  • Wait for the process to finish.

  • Go to Google Drive page.
  • Click the gear icon and select Settings.
  • Locate the Offline setting and disable it.
  • Restart your browser.
  • Now repeat the same steps, but this time enable the Offline option.

  • Go to your Google Drive account.
  • Click your account profile in the top right.
  • Choose the Sign out option.

  • Click on Advanced. Now choose Reset and clean up.
